Last Game
Michael Gretler drove in a pair of runs in Oregon State's four-run first inning to pace the Beavers to a 5-4 win over Cal State Fullerton Sunday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. Christian Chamberlain picked up his second win of the season and Jake Mulholland saved his sixth game of the season with a perfect ninth inning.
No Attempts
Cal State Fullerton did not attempt a stolen base during the three-game series. The last time a team didn't attempt a steal during a series was versus Washington State in 2017. That actually happened four times last season, with Arizona, Arizona State and Ball State (four games) also not attempting to snag a base versus the Beavers.
Gretler Pushes To Eight
Michael Gretler pushed his hit streak to eight games with a 1-for-4 afternoon Sunday versus Cal State Fullerton. He is batting .333 (10-for-30) during the streak.
Start Of Pac-12 Play
The series marks the first time since 2014 that the Beavers will not open Pac-12 Conference play versus Arizona State. Oregon State swept Utah in 2014, then went 1-2 vs. ASU in 2015. The Beavers swept the Sun Devils in both 2016 and 2017.
Mulholland Last Six
Jake Mulholland has pitched in each of the last six games for the Beavers, recording four saves over that stretch. He has thrown 5 2/3 innings in those six games, allowing four hits and no walks while striking out four.
Singles
• Oregon State has won six of the last seven series versus California, inlcuding four by sweep. OSU is 6-3 at Berkeley dating back to the 2012 season.
• Cal holds a slight 43-42 advantage all-time, but the Beavers have gone 28-8 (.778) versus the Golden Bears since 2005.
• Friday night's game will mark the first true road game for the Beavers this season. Oregon State has been the "home team" in each of its 16 games this season.
