SUGAR GROVE, Ill.
– Oregon State women's golfer Susie Cavanagh
will conclude her junior season in the final round of the NCAA Division I National Championships on Monday.
Through 36 holes, Cavanagh, a native of Warwick, R.I., is tied for115th place with a 22-over 79-87--166 at the par-72, 6,343-yard Rich Harvest Farms.
The tournament was shortened to 54 holes when the second round was cancelled on Saturday due to inclement weather.
Jennifer Kupcho of Wake Forest holds the individual lead with an even-par 74-70--144.
The final round will begin at 7:30 a.m. CT (5:30 a.m. PT) on Monday and live scoring is available at golfstat.com
A transfer from Connecticut, Cavanagh qualified for the NCAA National Championships after shooting a career-best 1-under 76-71-68--215 to finish in a tie for ninth place at the NCAA Regionals in Lubbock, Texas.
Cavanagh is just the third Oregon State women's golfer to advance to Nationals as an individual, joining All-American Kathleen Takaishi in 1999 and Anica Yoo in 2015. Takaishi finished in a tie for 48th place at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., while Yoo finished in a tie for 45th at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
