Anderson, Young Pace Beavers Versus Washington State

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Freshman Felicia Anderson and senior Andrea Young paced the Oregon State women's swimming team Friday night against Washington State at the Osborn Aquatic Center. The Beavers fell to the Cougars, 170-87.
Anderson finished with tops times both her primary events. The freshman took first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.92 and finished second in the 200-yard with a touch of 2:04.41.
Young took second in all three of her events, including finishing just three-tenths behind the leader in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.44. The senior also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (53.17) and in the 200-IM (2:09.15).
Junior Corrine Shigeta added to the Beavers point total in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke with a pair of second place finishes. The Hawai'i native recorded a time of 1:05.80 in the 100-yard and a touch of 2:20.94 in the 200.
Oregon State will close the regular season tomorrow morning at 11 a.m., at Osborn against Idaho.
The Beavers will recognize its 10 seniors prior to Saturdays meet. Seniors include: Maranda Alf-Huynh, Jesikah Cavanaugh, Chelsea Chan, Taylor Frank, Anni Hecker, Czarina Isleta, Sophie MacEwan, Brooke Meyer, Alice Ochs and Andrea Young.
Following the weekend, Oregon State will begin preparations for the Pac-12 Championships that will take place February 22-25 at Federal Way, Washington.
