Chaplin Announces 2017 Gymnastics Schedule

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State head coach Tanya Chaplin announced Tuesday in the 2017 gymnastics schedule  in conjunction with the Pac-12 Network.
The program's winningest coach returns for her 20th season with a plethora of talent with 12 letterwinners back from 2016 including 21 out of 24 routines. Six seniors, including three All-Americans, are expected to lead the Beavers back to NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo.
All-arounders Madeline Gardiner, a three-time All-American, and Kaytianna McMillan, an All-American in 2016, will provide stability and strong scores to the Beavers' lineups. Erika Aufiero, a 2015 All-American, returns for her fifth year after missing the entire 2016 season due to an injury suffered just a week before the season began. In addition, veteran stalwarts Silvia Colussi-Pelaez, Megan Jimenez and Taylor Ricci will be back bringing experience and leadership to go with talent.
Aufiero's recovery coupled with the return of junior Dani Dessaints, who also suffered an early season-ending injury, will be a boon to the lineups with both capable of anchoring a lineup.
Other gymnasts returning to the fold are junior Shireen Khamedoost and sophomores Mariana Colussi-Pelaez, Mary Jacobsen, McKenna Singley and Elizabeth Yu. That quintet combined to make up nearly half of the routines the Beavers performed in 2016.
Joining the program for 2017 are 10 freshmen, Halli Briscoe, Kaitlin Campbell, Destinee Davis, Sabrina Gill, Lena Greene, Jaime Law, Maela Lazaro, Isis Lowery, Bri McCant and Alyssa Minyard.
