CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State sophomore infielder KJ Harrison has been named a First-Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game on Monday.
It's his second preseason honor leading up to the Beavers' 2016 campaign. In December, he was named to Collegiate Baseball's preseason All-America Second Team.
Harrison batted .309 as a freshman in 2015, collecting a Pac-12 Conference best 60 runs batted in on the strength of 12 doubles and 10 home runs. He was named the conference's Freshman of the Year and was a unanimous Freshman All-American.
The Hawaiian native is one of two players from the Pac-12 on the first team, with five being selected to Perfect Game's three teams overall.
Harrison and the Beavers open the 2016 season Feb. 19 when taking on Ball State in Surprise, Ariz. The home opener is slated for March 11 when OSU hosts San Francisco in the first of a three-game series.
