McNairy PRs at Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships

STANFORD, Calif. – Highlighted by Saskia McNairy's personal record in the heptathlon the Oregon State University track & field team wrapped up the first leg of the Pac-12 championships at the Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships on Sunday hosted by Stanford University.
The junior McNairy finished in 7th place overall scoring two team points for the Beavers with 5,150 points. She improved her fourth-best all-time Oregon State mark in the event. Freshman Claire Corbitt finished in 14th in her first Pac-12 championship event with 4,020 points.
McNairy had a strong start to the day in the long jump picking up a 4th place finish. She jumped 18' 10.5 " in her final attempt, a season-best jump in the event. Corbitt had a 13th place finish with a jump of 16' 10.5" which came on her second attempt of three.
In the next event the javelin McNairy had another top-five finish placing 5th throwing 124' 7" in her first attempt. Corbitt's best throw came on her second attempt and placed 14th with a throw of 77' 1".
The seventh and final event of the heptathlon featured the 800 meters. McNairy placed 11th in 2:26.96, while Corbitt placed 14th in 2:49.27.
Washington State's Alissa Brooks-Johnson took the crown in the event finishing with 5,977 points.
