Tibbits Selected To Pac-12 All-Freshman Team

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Spencer Tibbits was selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team by a vote of the conference coaches, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Thursday.

Tibbits, a freshman from Vancouver, Wash., led the Beavers with a scoring average of 71.85. He posted three top-10 finishes, including a career-best fourth place at the Duck Invitational, sixth place at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational and a tie for ninth place at the Mark Simpson Invitational.

He fired 13 sub-par rounds with eight of those in the 60's. His best score was a 5-under 66 in the third round of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational and his best three-round score was an 11-under 202 at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational.

Tibbits is the first Oregon State golfer to make the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Kevin Murphy received Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention recognition in 2014. John Lepak was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 1999 before they selected an All-Freshman Team.
