STILLWATER, Okla. – Nicole Schroeder climbed 24 spots up the leaderboard after firing a 1-over 73 in the second round of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championships on Saturday.
Schroeder had four birdies and five bogies in the second round at the par-72, 6,328-yard Karsten Creek Golf Club and is tied for 44th place with a 6-over 77-73--150. She started on the 10th hole on Saturday and shot a 2-over 38 over her first nine holes before closing with a 1-under 35.
Her birdies came on the par-4, 327-yard 12th, par-5, 482-yard 18th, par-4, 377-yard second and par-4, 418-yard eighth holes.

The NCAA Championships consists of all 24 teams and 12 individuals completing 54 holes of stroke play. The top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team will advance for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match play competition and the 72-hole stroke play individual champion. The top eight teams then compete in match play for the championship.
Schroeder will tee off at 1:10 p.m. CT (11:10 a.m. PT) in the third round on Sunday and be paired with Jess Yuen of Missouri and Martha Wold of California.
Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
A sophomore from Rocklin, Calif., Schroeder qualified for the NCAA Championships by winning the NCAA Regional in Madison, Wis., with a career-best 10-under 206.
Schroeder is the fourth Oregon State women's golfer to advance to the NCAA Championships as an individual, joining All-American Kathleen Takaishi in 1999, Anica Yoo in 2015 and Susie Cavanagh last year.
