
Five Beavers Notch Pac-12 Honors

Everett, Ybarra, Mazon, Brandner and Nunes honored
SAN FRANCISCO – Five student-athletes on the Oregon State softball team were tabbed for Pacific-12 All-Conference honors, as announced by the league office on Saturday evening.
Designated player/first basemen Alysha Everett earned a Pac-12 Third-Team selection in her final season for the Beavers. The Trabuco Canyon, Calif. native leads the Beavers with a .304 batting average and 52 hits, she is tied for a team-high 11 doubles with 20 RBI and a .439 slugging percentage. This marks the third All-Conference selection for the senior as she was named to the All-Conference Second-Team in 2017 and to the All-Freshman team in 2015.
Freshman designated player/first basemen Hope Brandner was also selected to the All-Conference Third-Team as well as the All-Freshman team. Â She leads the team with 34 RBI and a .533 slugging percentage in her inaugural season in Corvallis. The Vacaville, Calif. native batted .300 with a team-high 11 home runs this season and earned her first Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honor on March 19 after hitting five RBI against No. 16 California. Brandner helped the Beavers topple Oregon for the first time since 2012 with a walk-off RBI on March 30.
Freshman pitcher Mariah Mazon doubled up on honors as well being selected to the All-Conference Third-Team and to the All-Freshman Team. This season Mazon has racked up 11 wins with a 2.90 ERA. She leads the Beavers with 24 starts, 181.0 innings pitched and 132 strikeouts. The Tulare, Calif. native has spun 16 complete games including two complete game shutouts. Mazon beat No. 21/24 Oklahoma State in her first start of her collegiate career in the first game of the season, and picked up ranked wins against No. 16 California and No. 7 Arizona State. Mazon set the Oregon State record for innings pitched in a single game on April 8th against Arizona State throwing 15.0 innings and over 300 pitches breaking the record set in 1985.
Freshman second basemen Camryn Ybarra was selected to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team as well as the All-Freshman team. Ybarra started 50 games at second base with a fielding percentage of .977 with 78 putouts and only four errors. She batted .226 on the season racking up 33 hits, five doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI. She launched her first career home run at No. 4 UCLA on March 26, and hit two doubles in the first game of the series at Utah on May 10.
Livermore, Calif. native Missy Nunes was the final honoree earning All-Freshman honors. Nunes played the vast majority of the season at third base starting 49 games at the position and finished the season at six starts shortstop. The freshman averaged .262 at the plate with 39 hits including eight doubles, six home runs and 19 RBI. Nunes earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors on April 16 following a breakout performance at Stanford. She batted .889 going 8-for-9 over three games with two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and a 1.778 slugging percentage.
