Yanish Earns Pac-12 All-Conference Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State gymnast Kaitlyn Yanish was announced as a member of the 2018 Pac-12 All-Conference team Tuesday by the Conference.

Yanish earned second team honors on the floor exercise. A freshman from Chandler, Ariz., Yanish finished the regular season with an RQS of 9.920 on the event ranking tied for 13th in the nation. She was named as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week recently following a quad meet at Sacramento State in which she tied her career-high with a 9.850 on the vault and added a 9.875 on the floor to tie for the event title. Yanish has also recorded personal marks of 9.80 on the balance beam on four occasions and has registered scores of 9.950 on the floor three times. In all, Yanish has hit 29 out of 31 routines for the Beavers in 2018.

The All-Conference first team consists of the top four all-around competitors, plus the top four competitors in each individual event, including ties, as determined by regional qualifying scores (RQS) after the Pac-12 Championships. The All-Conference second team consists of the fifth through eighth place all-around competitors, plus the fifth through eighth place competitors in each individual event, including ties.

Oregon State, ranked 14th in the nation, travels to Raleigh, N.C. later this week to compete at NCAA Regional Championships hosted by NC State, next Saturday, April 7 at 1 p.m. PT.
