Dhesi Earns Robin Reed, Bill Brickey Awards

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Redshirt senior heavyweight Amarveer Dhesi earned the Robin Reed Award as Oregon State's outstanding wrestler and the Bill Brickey Award as the most dedicated wrestler for the 2017 season last Saturday at the annual team banquet.
The Surrey, B.C. native went 25-4 this past season capturing the Pacific-12 conference championship and a 3rd place finish at the NCAA Wrestling Championships. It was the highest individual placing for Oregon State in 20 years.
Ronnie Bresser was also tabbed with the Robin Reed Award for his efforts this season. The junior posted a 25-6 record and captured his first All-American honor of his career as well as the Pac-12 championship at 125 pounds.
Freshman 157-pounder Hunter Willits earned the Joe Wells Award, for team impact. He was an NCAA qualifier in his inaugural season with the Beavers posting an 18-16 record and capturing a second place finish at the Pac-12 Tournament.
The Chad Flack Award given to the most improved wrestler was awarded to another freshman in 174-pounder Myles Terry. Terry wrestled to a 10-16 finish and was one win away from making the NCAA tournament in his first attempt.
149-pounder Conner Noonan earned the Len Kauffman/Larry Bielenberg Award for most pins. He had 14 falls throughout the season.
Seniors Jack Hathaway (141) and Cody Crawford (HWT) claimed the Dale Thomas Award, an all-around honor based on hustle, wins, GPA and other factors. Hathaway finished 21-14 in his final season with a third place finish at Pac-12s. Crawford finished 14-6 in his final season for the Beavers.
Newcomer Josh Reyes was awarded the Hardest Worker Award. Reyes joined the team midway through the season and wrestled to a 10-5 finish.
All six seniors were honored with the Coaches' Appreciation Award; Cody Crawford, David Henry, Jack Hathaway, Amarveer Dhesi, Izaak Tobin and Josh Parazoo. They were awarded for their leadership both on and off the mat.
Tobin was also pegged with the Highest GPA Award for his efforts in the classroom this season.
