Beavers Prepared For Weekend Tourney

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team will get its final tune-up before the Pac-12 Championship when it competes Saturday and Sunday at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
FIELD (17): Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Hawai'i, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, UC Irvine, UNLV, Utah, Washington State and Wyoming.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-71, 7,032-yard ASU Karsten Golf Course.
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of junior Trevor Yu, sophomores Kyosuke Hara and Shawn Lu, and freshmen Keaton Gudz and Spencer Tibbits. Junior Tom Kerkvliet will compete as an individual.
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be a tee times beginning at 7 a.m. both days. Oregon State will start at 7:55 a.m. on Saturday and be paired with Boise State, Colorado State and Denver.
LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament on golfstat.com.

LAST TIME OUT: Shawn Lu recorded a top-10 finish for the second consecutive tournament, this time at The Goodwin two weeks ago.
Lu finished in a tie for 10th place with a 4-under 73-65-71--209 at the par-71, 7,143-yard TPC Harding Park. The 4-under 209 is his best score in a 54-hole tournament bettering the 3-under 210 he shot at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational this past fall.
It's the third time Lu has posted a top-10 finish during his collegiate career. He finished in a career-best tie for fifth place at the Duck Invitational earlier this week and a tie for 10th place at the El Macero Classic last spring.
The Beavers concluded the three-day, 54-hole tournament in a tie for 16th place with a 20-over 290-283-299--872. The competitive 26-team field featured 11 teams ranked among the top 50 in the golfstat.com rankings.
Kyosuke Hara finished in a tie for 65th place with a 6-over 73-68-78--219, Trevor Yu was two strokes back with an 8-over 73-74-74--221 for a tie for 78th place, Spencer Tibbits posted a tie for 92nd place with a 10-over 71-76-76--223 and Keaton Gudz finished in a tie for 128th with a 21-over 75-80-79--234.
No. 9 Oklahoma won the team title with a 24-under 828 and Oregon's Norman Xiong claimed medalist honors with a 15-under 198.
