Beavers Post Another Top-Five Finish

KAPALUA, Hawai'i – For the fourth time in as many spring tournaments the Oregon State women's golf team posted a top-five finish.
The Beavers finished in fifth place at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Wednesday after concluding the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 32-over 301-297-298--896 at the par-72, 6,022-yard Kapalua Bay Course.
The Beavers opened the spring season with a fifth-place showing at the Westbrook Spring Invitational and followed that with a third-place effort at the Meadow Club Women's Intercollegiate and a fourth-place mark at the Entrada Classic.
Louisville defeated Hawai'i in a playoff to win the team title and Kaci Masuda of Hawai'i was the individual medalist.
Nicole Schroeder finished in a tie for 10th place with a 6-over 76-74-72--222 to record a top-10 finish for the third time in her sophomore campaign. She finished in a tie for eighth place at the Ron Moore Invitational this past fall and a career-best third at the Entrada Classic two weeks ago.
Senior Susie Cavanagh and freshman Ellie Slama both finished in a tie for 18th place with an 8-over 224. Cavanagh posted scores of 74-74-76 and Slama finished the tourney with rounds of 76-74-74.
Junior Olivia Benzin finished in a tie for 32nd place with a 10-over 75-75-76--226 and sophomore Mari Nishiura bounced back after a tough opening round to finish in a tie for 56th place with a 22-over 86-76-76--238.
Freshman Amanda Minni competed as an individual and finished in a career-best tie for 26h place with a 9-over 78-74-73--225.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
