Oregon State center will be an All-America candidate
ATLANTA, Ga. – Senior Marie Gulich has been tabbed as a WBCA All-Region selection, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced Thursday. Gulich is one of 52 All-Region selections, which will all be candidates for All-America honors.
Gulich earned All-Pac-12 honors of the second-straight season this year, and was also chosen as Pac-12 Media Defensive Player of the Year. The Cologne, Germany, native has cemented her place as one of the top players in the nation, as she was named an ESPNW All-American, a Lisa Leslie Award semi-finalist and received a spot on the Naismith Trophy Mid-season Watch List.
Gulich is shooting 65.8 percent from the floor this season, and is averaging 17.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest. She currently sits tied for 13th in Oregon State history with 1,163 career points, and is second in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage. On the defensive end, Gulich leads the Pac-12 in blocks, and is third in Oregon State history with 192 career rejections.
Oregon State will head to the Sweet 16 on Friday, when the Beavers take on Baylor in Lexington at 4 p.m. PT. You can watch that game live on ESPN2. For more information on that contest, click here.
