Beavers Drop Game Two against No. 16 California
March 17, 2018 | Softball
CORVALLIS – The No. 25 Oregon State University softball team dropped game two of a three game series to the No. 16 California Golden Bears Saturday afternoon at OSU Softball Complex. The three-game series concludes Sunday at noon with free admission. Coverage will be provided by Pac-12 Networks.
The Beavers fall to 18-10, 1-1 Pac-12 on the season, while Cal improves to 24-4, 1-1 Pac-12.
It was a pitching duel for the majority of the game, with the first slip up coming in the third inning with a three-run home run that just stayed fair for Cal's Fillmore. The Beavers defense did a great job to keep the deficit at three runs until late in the game.
Multiple errors on the Beavers and hot bats for Cal put nine runs on the scoreboard in the sixth inning putting the game out of reach.
McKenna Arriola and Alysha Everett each notched a hit in the loss. Mariah Mazon struck out five in 5.0 innings.
