
Anderson, Cavalluzzo Named Scholar-Athletes of the Month

Felicia Anderson and Holly Cavalluzzo are the scholar-athletes of the month for the month of February
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State Athletics is proud to announce Felicia Anderson and Holly Cavalluzzo have been named February Scholar-Athletes of the Month.
Felicia Anderson, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., has turned into one of Oregon State's anchors in the pool as she continually posts top times in duals. The Central Catholic High School product owns three NCAA B Standard times in the pool after turning in her best performance of the year, with two coming in the 100 back and one in the 200 back. Anderson has also posted event wins recently in the Pac-12 duals against Utah and UCLA.
Outside of the pool, Anderson owns a 3.42 GPA as a sophomore in the College of Business at Oregon State and is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In January, Anderson participated in the Read-A-Thon at Hoover Elementary and also volunteered at a local high school swim meet. Over the course of the fall term, she assisted with multiple projects at the Restore, SafeHaven Humane Society and also participated at the Halloween Trick-or-Treat through Gill Coliseum.
Holly Cavalluzzo, a senior hailing from Middletown, N.Y. has been a staple on the Beavers' cross country and track & field teams during her career. Cavalluzzo began her collegiate career with a third place finish at the Viking Classic, and has since placed second numerous times, and won the Westmoreland Quintet in 2015. She is a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention selection in cross country and won the award in track & field twice.
Cavalluzzo was also named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic team twice for her efforts during the indoor season. She is an Exercise and Sport Science major who earned a 3.37 GPA in the fall of 2017 and will graduate in spring term.
Student-athletes are selected each month and are coordinated by the Academics for Student-Athletes staff.
The track & field team continues the indoor season this weekend at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. on Feb.9-10. Oregon State concludes the indoor season on Feb. 23-24 at the MPSF Championships.
Oregon State swimming will head to Federal Way, Wash. for the four-day Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 21-24.
