
Beavers Conclude Indoor Season at MPSF Championships

SEATTLE – The Oregon State track & field team posted three additional all-time top-10 marks on Saturday at the second and final day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation indoor championships at the Dempsey Indoor Center.
Nicole Goecke had another impressive performance in the 800 meters on Saturday. Goecke previously set the school record in the event at the Husky Classic on Feb. 10 with a time of 2:11.55. Today the junior crossed the line in a time of 2:10.14 taking first place in her heat.
Kim Solberg also ran an Oregon State top-10 time in the event with a 2:20.78. Her mark is the ninth-best time in OSU history.
The final mark of history was made by throwing specialist Sydney Guthrie-Baker. The sophomore improved her mark in the shot put by nearly two and a half feet. Guthrie-Baker tied for fourth place with a throw of 44-feet 0.5-inches, the second best throw in Oregon State's history.
In total the Beavers set two school records and posted seven all-time top-10 marks at the two-day event, the final of the indoor season for Oregon State.
Overall this season the Beavs set three school records in the pole vault, 800 and 5,000 meters. They notched 33 all-time marks in the four-meet indoor season.
The Beavers now sit idle until the outdoor season ramps up on March 16. OSU will participate in the Lewis & Clark Invitational in Portland, Ore.
