Goecke Sets School Record at Husky Classic

SEATTLE – Highlighted by a record-setting performance in the 800 meters, the Oregon State track and field team finished up the indoor regular season at the Husky Classic in the Dempsey Indoor Center on Saturday evening.
"Productive day from the group," began head coach Louie Quintana. "Everyone was highly competitive in their heats and flights. We are getting personal and season bests in almost all of our events."
In total, the Beavers set 14 new all-time marks. Redshirt junior Nicole Goecke set the record in the 800 meters, just barely being edged at the line in her heat for second place. Goecke finished with a time of 2:11.55. Kala Kopecek recorded the second fasted time in Oregon State history with a time of 2:13.96.
Lindsay McShane improved her weight throw from two weeks ago where she set the No. 2 all-time mark. McShane's throw of 53-feet brings her closer to breaking the school record of 53-feet 11.25-inches set in 2016.
The Beavers entered three competitors into the 200 meters, with all of them garnering top-10 times.
Saskia McNairy finished her heat in third with a time of 26.11, setting the seventh fasted time in Oregon State history. Marin Zaccheo finished second in her heat and recorded the ninth-best time of 26.37, while Claire Corbitt, who placed third in her heat, grabbed the 10 spot with a run of 26.92.
Oregon State set all-time marks or times in seven out of the 10 events the Beavers entered in. Other top-10 times or marks were set by:

- Marin Zaccheo, who tied the sixth-fastest time with a run of 8.09 in the 60 meters.
- Claire Corbitt, who ran 9.41 in the 60-meter hurdles, the fifth-best time.
- Saskia McNairy, who ran 9.56 in the 60-meter hurdles, the sixth-fastest time.
- Dakota Steen, who ran 58.64 in the 400 meters, bettering her seventh-best time.
- Tarisa Olinski, who ran 59.52 in the 400 meters, bettering her eighth-best time.
