Beavers Fall In Civil War Rematch

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon State fell to Oregon 66-57 on Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena in the 350th edition of the Civil War.
The Beavers (11-9, 3-5 Pac-12) won the first meeting between the teams this season, 76-64, on Jan. 5 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.
Stephen Thompson Jr. led Oregon State with 16 points, while Ethan Thompson scored 13 and Tres Tinkle added 11.
Oregon (14-7, 4-4) built a 21-point first-half lead, with the help of a 22-2 run, before the Beavers cut the deficit to 41-25 at the break.
A 12-5 run to start the second half was capped by a dunk by Ethan Thompson that made it 46-37 with 10:30 to play. The Beavers cut it to 58-50 on a putback by Tinkle but were unable to get closer the rest of the game.
Elijah Brown led Oregon with 20 points and Paul White added 17.
