EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon State fell to Oregon 66-57 on Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena in the 350th edition of the Civil War.

The Beavers (11-9, 3-5 Pac-12) won the first meeting between the teams this season, 76-64, on Jan. 5 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.

Stephen Thompson Jr. led Oregon State with 16 points, while Ethan Thompson scored 13 and Tres Tinkle added 11.

Oregon (14-7, 4-4) built a 21-point first-half lead, with the help of a 22-2 run, before the Beavers cut the deficit to 41-25 at the break.

A 12-5 run to start the second half was capped by a dunk by Ethan Thompson that made it 46-37 with 10:30 to play. The Beavers cut it to 58-50 on a putback by Tinkle but were unable to get closer the rest of the game.

Elijah Brown led Oregon with 20 points and Paul White added 17.

Oregon State heads to the Bay Area next week, beginning with a stop on The Farm to play Stanford at 8 p.m. on Thursday at Maples Pavilion. The game will be televised on FS1 with Aaron Goldsmith and Casey Jacobsen calling the action.
