Beavers Square Off with Cougars and Vandals

Oregon State will tackle Washington State and Idaho back-to-back on January 26-27
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University swimming program enters the home stretch this week as it faces Washington State and Idaho in back-to-back duals later this week for the final road meets of 2018.
The Beavers will take on the Cougars at Gibb Pool in Pullman, Wash., starting at 5 p.m. PT on Friday, January 26, and will close out the road portion of the 2018 campaign against the Vandals at the UI Swim Center in Moscow, Idaho, starting at 11 a.m. PT on Saturday, January 27.
Oregon State last took to the pool on January 12 against UCLA at the Osborn Aquatic Center as the Bruins came away with a 150-88 win.
Freshman Isabelle Bishop (Davis, Calif.) set three season-best times at the dual to lead the way, taking a fifth-place finish in the 100 back at 1:01.38, adding a third-place scoring finish in the 200 back at 2:14.04 and finished sixth in the 50 free at 26.36.
Classmate Fernanda Rodriguez (Portland, Ore.) added season-best 2:24.09 in the 200 breast to finish second in scoring, while sophomore Felicia Anderson (Portland, Ore.) led OSU in the 100 back at 56.97 to finish in second.
The Beavers took on both programs to close out the 2016-17 season at the Osborn Aquatic Center as Washington State paid a visit on January 20 and took the dual at 170-87, while Idaho eked out a 136.5-124.5 decision the next day.
Anderson set the pace in the dual against the Cougars as the freshman posted the best times in the 100 and 200 back at 56.92 and 2:04.41, respectively, and repeated the feat the next day against the Vandals.
The 200 medley relay team posted a top finish in the dual against Idaho at 1:45.81, while sophomore Merritt Allen (Bend, Ore.), then a freshman, tallied her first career win in the 200 fly at 2:10.10 to lead the way.
