Nelson helps Chiefs shut down Jets

Kansas City second-year cornerback Steven Nelson started and had three tackles and three passes defended in a 24-3 win over the New York Jets on Sunday to lead Oregon State alums in Week 2 of the National Football League season.

JOSH ANDREWS (2010-13), PHILADELPHIA: The Philadelphia offensive lineman was inactive for a 34-3 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday.

BRANDIN COOKS (2011-13), NEW ORLEANS: The 2013 Biletnikoff Award winner had two receptions for 13 yards and one rush for six yards in a 45-32 loss to Atlanta on Monday night.

OBUM GWACHAM (2011-14), NEW ORLEANS: The second-year defensive end played but had no stats in a 45-32 loss to Atlanta on Monday night.

CONNOR HAMLETT (2011-14), CLEVELAND: The second-year tight end is on Cleveland's practice squad.

JOHNNY HEKKER (2008-11), LOS ANGELES: The all-pro punter averaged 51.2 yards on five punts, with a long of 64 yards, and had two punts downed inside the 20-yard line in a 37-32 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.

COLIN KELLY (2009-12), CHICAGO: The guard was signed to the Chicago Bears practice squad on Sept. 26.

ANDY LEVITRE (2005-08), ATLANTA: Andy started at left guard in a 45-32 win over New Orleans on Monday night.

SEAN MANNION (2011-14), LOS ANGELES: The second-year quarterback was inactive for a 37-32 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.

MATT MOORE (2005-06), MIAMI: The quarterback did not play in a 30-24 overtime win over Cleveland on Sunday.

RYAN MURPHY (2011-14), DENVER: The second-year defensive back is on Denver's practice squad.

MIKE REMMERS (2008-11), CAROLINA: Mike started at right offensive tackle in a 22-10 loss to Minnesota on Sunday.

JACQUIZZ RODGERS (2008-10), TAMPA BAY: Quizz had three carries for 15 yards, with a long run of four yards, and one catch for eight yards in a 37-32 loss to Los Angeles on Sunday.

ISAAC SEUMALO (2012-15), PHILADELPHIA: The rookie offensive lineman was inactive for a 34-3 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday.

TERRON WARD (2011-14), ATLANTA: The second-year running back was released by the Falcons on Sept. 22, and signed to their practice squad.

MARKUS WHEATON (2009-12), PITTSBURGH: The wide receiver had one catch for two yards in a 34-3 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday.

DYLAN WYNN (2011-14), CLEVELAND: The second-year defensive end is on the injured reserve list and will not play this season.
