Oregon State setter/outside hitter McKenna Hollingsworth is a redshirt sophomore who hails from Carlsbad, Calif. She has been a member of the program since 2014.
Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it and who gave it to you? And why did they give it to you?
"My nickname is Ken because there is another Makenna on the team."

What do you like most about playing volleyball?
"The best thing about volleyball is your teammates because we are a family and they are my sisters."

At what age did you know you wanted to play volleyball in college? And what made you realize that?
"I knew I wanted to play college volleyball in the eighth grade when I started watching Pac-10 volleyball games on TV with my dad."

If you weren't playing volleyball, what sport would you play and why?
"If I wasn't playing volleyball I would be playing basketball because my dad is a basketball coach and I have been around it all my life."

Who has had the biggest influence on your volleyball career?
"My dad is the biggest influence in my volleyball career because of the love and support he had for me while playing when I was younger."

What is the last movie you saw?
"The last movie I saw was Finding Dory."

If you could play in any band, or take over for any singer, who would that be and why?
"Beyonce I don't need to say much more."

What is the best part about living in Corvallis and the state of Oregon?
"The best part of living in Corvallis is the college town."

What is your team goal for the 2016 season?
"Our team goal for the 2016 season is to make it to the NCAA tournament."

What was your first thought when being recruited by Oregon State?
"My first thought about Oregon State was that the volleyball program was a family. The coaches, staff, and players push you to become a better person."

What class has been your most memorable at Oregon State?
"My most memorable class at Oregon State was my Entrepreneurship class because I loved my professor in the way he pushed me to be more outgoing."

And what led you to choose it?
"I am double majoring in Finance and Marketing."

After your playing career is over, what profession do you want to go into?
"After college I would like to go into the finance or marketing industry and work for a larger company."
What match do you look back to and remember fondly through your entire volleyball career?
"I would look back on the Utah home match last year. It was my first start at home and we broke our losing streak."
What makes you the most excited, day in and day out, about being an Oregon State student-athlete?
"Our fans and the Corvallis community make me the most excited, day in and day out, because they always support the sports programs."
