Beavers Fall to Cal in Home Opener

CORVALLIS, Ore. — The Oregon State swimming team fell to California in its home opener Friday night at the Osborn Aquatic Center, 163-88.

Freshman, Felicia Anderson continue her success as she recorded a career-high in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.98 to place third. Senior Czsarina Isleta picked up points for the Beavs in the 100-yard breaststroke with a second place finish, touching at 1:05.43.

In the 100-yard freestyle, senior Sophie MacEwan led OSU recording a second-place finish with a season-best 53.51, while Maranda Alf-Huynh followed in third to pick up points for OSU.

Anderson again placed well in the 200-yard backstroke and set a new high with a time of 2:04.22 on her way to a second-place finish. Freshman, Jenny Pinard followed in third also setting a career-high with a mark of 2:15.32.

Isleta improved her season-best in the 200-yard breaststroke, notching a time of 2:24.12, while senior Chelsea Chan following with a time of 2:25.45.

Junior Noemie Midrez also shaved time off her season-best in the 500-yard freestyle, coming in with a time of 5:24.46 to earn a second-place finish.

OSU closed the home opener placing second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Oregon State will return to action next Friday as it plays host to Stanford starting at 2 p.m., at the Osborn Aquatic Center. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE.
