Beavers Head to California for Pink Meet
October 20, 2016 | Women's Swimming
CORVALLIS, Ore. — The Oregon State swimming team will head to Westwood, California this Saturday and face five teams at the Pink Meet hosted by UCLA. The Beavers will face UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, San Diego, UCLA and Florida Gulf Coast University. Action will begin at 12 p.m., PT at Spieker Aquatics Center.
Â
OSU is coming off a 141-109 loss to Stanford last week at Osborn Aquatic Center. Both seniors, Czsarina Isleta and Andrea Young posted great times in their races, while Felicia Anderson also continued to shave time off in the backstroke events.
Â
Oregon State will face UC Davis and Florida Gulf Coast for just the second time Saturday after the Beavers suffered a loss to both teams back in 2013. The Beavers are 3-9 all-time against Santa Barbara, recording a loss in the last six meetings. Against San Diego, OSU holds a 4-1 record picking up a win in 2013 by a score of 154-133. OSU is winless against UCLA, as the Bruins hold a 12-0 record since the series started back in 2002.
Â
Admission to the meet is $5 and PINK UCLA Swimming and Diving shirts will be available to purchase for $15.  All proceeds will benefit the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women's Health Center.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to honor those we have lost, but also to celebrate the survivors among us. If you are unable to attend but would like to help support this cause, please click here.
